Sugar Cane Growers Cooperative of Florida is Hiring a Training and Development Supervisor Near Belle, FL

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Training and Development Supervisor plans, coordinates, and direct skills and knowledge-enhancement programs for the Fleet Maintenance and Transportation Department at SCGC. They are responsible for creating or selecting course content and materials for training programs. Training may be in the form of a video, self-guided instructional manual, or online application and delivered in person or through a computer or other hand-held electronic device. Training and development managers often consult with managers of other departments to identify training needs. They may identify and match training priorities with overall business goals.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES: N/A

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist harvest operations with John Deere data, keeping data up to date and accurate.
  • Assist Fleet Maintenance shops with advanced troubleshooting diagnostics on all equipment.
  • Making sure the proper parts are being installed accordingly and responsibly.
  • Present train the trainer options for continued learning advancements in technical training.
  • Attending training seminars become the subject matter expert.
  • Develop and maintain training curriculum and tracking program for SCGC employees.
  • Business travel out of town may be required.
  • Develop core skills training program for new hires.
  • Assist in drafting PM check lists for fleet maintenance staff on specific equipment.
  • Provide input from manufacturers to effectively manage our PM processes and schedules based of manufacture recommendations.
  • Assist with the development of PM kits to make sure we are not over or under performing preventative maintenance.
  • Monitor and manage oil sampling program.
  • Assist with new equipment testing.
  • Manage shop tooling program.
  • Working as an on call technical expert after hours.
  • Performs other related projects and assignments as business dictates.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Analytical and problem-solving skills and must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks in fast paced environment, learn all technical aspects of all equipment, read wiring diagrams, able to communicate clearly with mechanic’s, supervisors and drivers in a busy working environment. Must be dependable, punctual individual who is committed excellence with an attention to detail. Must have excellent "people skills", including the ability to work effectively with diverse groups. Must be able to receive and carry-out verbal & written instructions.

LICENSES REQUIRED: Regular Class E Driver’s license, CDL (A) preferred.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5 years in atraining and supervisory role.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regular attendance is required during normal working hours.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasional walking, standing, kneeling, reaching, and lifting up from 5 to 25 pounds
